Banner Ads: These ads are usually graphic ads and can be text as well. They are placed in many places on web pages and range in many different sizes.
Keyword Ads: Keyword ads are text based ads that include the keyword text in a link or web search. These can also be on the form of anchor links on a web page also.
Button Ads: Sometimes button ads are simply company logos that you can click on that takes you to a different web page or site.

Pop-under Ads: A little like pop-up ads, but pop under your current browser window so that when you close your current window, the ad will then be displayed. Pop-unders are a little less annoying than pop-up ads, but still not liked by many.
Sponsorship Ads: Sponsored ads are ads that are placed on a website that a company pays the website owner to publish the ad on their site for a fee. Though not always the case, sponsored ads are usually more relevant to the content of the web page that you are already on; making them more useful and targeted towards the visitor.
